Edgy city chick or country darling? Sally Singleton, 24, is the perfect balance of both. This songstress with the famous surname is now making tracks in a music career.
So how does it feel to be at the edge of a move into pop music?
I'm so excited, it's like the night before Christmas. I've been waiting for years, I kept taking new songs to Sony and changing things and going back. I'm so happy, I feel like I've done all the work now and it's up to the audience what happens from here.
You seem to be quite the jack-of-all-trades, why concentrate on music?
I've always enjoyed writing my own music. My dad said do what you love because then you'll work at it 24/7 because it is what you do for pleasure. I definitely love writing music more than anything, I'll do it every night and day for the rest of my life. I think it's in my blood now.
Your single, Tomorrow was born out of a bad experience - but it sounds so happy. Can you tell us about that?
It was just one of those days where it all catches up with you. I went to a girlfriend of mine, Barbara Griffin's house and I didn't want to talk about all the things getting me down. So Barbara played piano and I sang and that was how the song was born. We sent it over to Jimmy Harry in LA who did Pink and Lady Gaga and Britney to put his production touches on it, because that side isn't my forte, and he did a great job to take it to the Tomorrow you hear today.

Where did you shoot the music video?
It was at my family property on the farm. I spend a lot of time up there and I like to do my writing and thinking up there - it's really special to me.
Country or city girl?
I'm definitely both, but I think I'll find myself in the country later in life. But I do love the city. You know I couldn't do all of the country without the city and I couldn't do all of the city without the country. I need both. I'm a Libran I need both sides of the scale.
What can we expect to find on your iPod?
Well, my iPod went through the washing machine but I can look at my iTunes. Influences are Tracy Chapman - I just think she's a really amazing storyteller and I love the sound of her voice. I really like Lily Allen - she's cheeky and I just think she doesn't take herself too seriously and her music is interesting. Someone like Pink, who I seem to talk about way too much, I think she's great because she says things the way they are. She seems to be herself wholly and that's great. No one else can be you, it's also not an easy thing to be yourself and not worry about people judging you.
