I've spent many a Saturday night with gal pals at the Sapphire Suite. So when I heard that the swanky Kings Cross club had opened a new eatery downstairs, I had to check it out.

Elegant Egyptian crystal chandeliers and a cosy atmosphere add to an impressive menu. We decided to go for seafood for starters and Italian mains. Accompanied by a tasty tomato chilli salsa and crunchy sweet potato crisps, the Cajun-style soft-shell crab was scrumptious with an impressive amount of succulent white meat. Equally delicious, the salt and pepper squid was coated in a light batter and cooked to perfection.

A light tomato sauce and generous serve of prawns and squid made the egg linguini filling but not heavy. Even more impressive was the huge vegetable pizza, which overflowed with kalamata olives, mushrooms, eggplant, capsicum and bitey goats cheese.
