Everything about Intermezzo is impressive. From the great respect executive chef Mario Percuoco shows for local produce and the imposing stone GPO building that houses this well-loved spot, to the benchmark its team sets for Italian dining. Percuoco, who continues his family's legacy of passion for Italian food (his father is Armando Percuoco of Buon Ricordo), delights diners with traditional Neapolitan cuisine. Highlights include, well, just about everything, but my favourites have to be the capesante con gorgonzola - scallops served in light gorgonzola sauce and topped with lightly seared pancetta, $24, and fagotti di vitello, veal roll filled with pancetta, smoked bocconcini, pine nuts, baby spinach and slow cooked in tomato concasse, $39. Both divine.
