Discover Afternoon delights at Blue.
There are two things the girls and I love: shopping and chocolate. It couldn't be simpler. So last Saturday, after we had sated our appetites for shopping, we headed to Blue's Water Bar for an afternoon of pure chocolate indulgence.
My friend, a serious chocoholic, couldn't help but be swept away by the miniature Lindt masterpieces. We were all glad she had her own plate of tasty morsels; the thought of sharing my St Moritz cake with its rich silky tiers of milk, white and dark chocolate mousse separated with layers of almond cake and topped with dark Lindt chocolate was just not an option.
Over pots of piping hot tea and a glass or two of Veuve Clicquot, we married the sweet and savoury creations together. Not a single tastebud was left dormant. baked biscuit base.
Admittedly, I am a savoury girl and the mini gourmet meat pie and smoked salmon canapés went down a treat. I even swapped one of my layered caramel cakes for an extra goat's cheese and salmon tart. Delicious. Here you can live life in miniature: mini pies, mini sandwiches, mini tarts. You get the picture. Though each individual serving is small in the quantity department, it is bursting with quality. We promise, by the time you finish everything on offer, you won't be thinking about dinner.
The only downside was to the hip pocket; it's quite amazing how champers and chocolate can put you in the mood to shop again.
